Read It; Discuss It

The AHCA bill is supposed to be released for perusal today. It's funny that even though one of my state's senators is one of the named 13 men writing the bill he has never seen it. What that means is that the "devil is in the details". Maternity care, pre-existing conditions, pharmaceutical coverage, tax penalties and tax subsidies, and many more substantive ideas are all items to examine carefully. Despite what so many Republican congress people say, it isn't "bad people making bad decisions" who end up with health issues. And even if that were true, denying health care to anyone is problematic.

Unfortunately McConnell wants the bill to be voted on before the close of business a week from today. He also wants it to pass regardless of what's in it and what objections are made. Americans are in for a whirlwind week. I hope everyone is paying attention.
