Loyalty Oaths

In a bizarre event, Trump held a Cabinet meeting today at which he went around the large table introducing each cabinet level person and having each make a statement of "loyalty". I am describing them thus because they were so odd (Reince Priebus whose job is on the line said, “we thank you for the opportunity and blessing you’ve given us to serve your agenda and the American people.”) and so pointed that there is not any other language that fits. Some of the statements were bizarre, some make the listener cringe, all bring up whether or not Trump has even read King Lear. We already know, given Donald Jr.'s response to the production of Julius Caesar in Central Park, that the Trump family in toto does not get what happens in that play.

As an aside, I underline the titles because of the MLA rules even though when I was a student, plays, regardless of their length or import, were in quotation marks.  I bow to modernity.
